Description
Flour is ground wheat flour. There are different types of flour, differing in gluten content, color, grain fraction used, and type of wheat. Flour is an essential ingredient in breads, cakes, cookies, and most baked goods. All-purpose flour is a blend of gluten-rich durum wheat flour and gluten-free soft wheat flour. Whole wheat flour is milled from whole grains without first removing the bran. Bread crumbs are primarily ground for commercial baking purposes, but are readily available at most grocery stores. Self-raising flour is a type of flour with added salt and leavening agents.
