Description
Long-grain white rice is a type of rice commonly grown in Brazil. It is also known as Carolina rice or American rice. Long-grain white rice is a non-sticky, dry rice that is often used in side dishes and salads. It is also used in fried rice dishes and soups. Long-grain white rice is often preferred for its light, airy texture. It is also easier to cook than other types of rice. There are several varieties of long-grain white rice grown in Brazil, including Carolina rice, American rice and Basmati rice. Rice exports (husk basis) strengthened in May 2023. The volume shipped last month was 197,600 tonnes, compared with 39,700 tonnes in the same period of 2022, according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC).
